Smallies

Here are a couple of picture of my new, small cushions. They all have different sizes, varying from 45 cm to 70 cm.

Below one is 70 x 70 and double sided. The one side is striped grey, the other is striped white.

This one is made of 3 colours of wool and nicely soft.

Following 2 are "classic". Meaning that I used fabric which I've liked to use for other applications as well. And as long as I'm still able to find new supply, I will keep on using it!

Webshop!!!!!

Dear fans, I am extremely glad (and relieved, you have no idea how much!) to announce you the birth of my webshop http://www.byfrance.be/. It took me a little bit longer to produce than I had promised you all. And believe me if I tell you it cost me some sleep as well. But hey, I am very glad with the result. I hope, but mostly trust, you will be too ;-)

So, please go look at the shop and don't hesitate to tell me what you think! And of course if you see some unfortunate mistakes, please let me know too...

Thanks all for the patience!

Oh yes, minor detail: the shop is in Dutch for the moment...sorry. I'll start working on the English translation soon!

Fabric!

This is a preview of some new fabrics I bought this week at my wholesalers. Lets wait and see what will come out of it!

Sam

Sam is a cushion of 100 x 100 cm. It's a BIG cushion. The purposes are various, going from a cosy feeling while reading in bed, playing with your kids on the ground, using it as your dogs new house or just having it lie somwhere for the look of it.

I made a pile of a couple of cushions that I have made already and Sweety just couldn't resist climbing up and sit as a princess on top of them ;-)

Here are a couple of examples of the fabrics used.

Smaller versions (70x70 and 60x60) are coming up too. I had some requests for that already!

Scarf Jack

Besides the Billy collection I have been working on a set of scarves in more delicate fabrics. I had men in nice suits on my mind when making those 2 scarves ;-)

This one is made of a shiny type of fabric with a metal thread incorporated. I applied a special colored detail on it, just to give it the necessary twitch.

This nicely lively scarf just makes the difference in your outfit. It is made out of painted fabric. I added a lining to add to the luxurious feeling.

Recently I've bought some silks for new scarves. As soon as they're ready I'll post them too!

Webshop

This week, I'll be working very hard on the development of my webshop. Hopefully it will be ready to go live at the week end! And hopefully I'll be able to keep calm and zen. It doesn't appear to be that easy to make. I've been struggling so far :-(

I'll keep you all posted.

Big & small Billy

As promised here an overview of collection Billy. These scarves come in big or small sizes, depending on your preference. They are made of wool of an excellent quality, in various colors and they come with all kinds of colored patterns.

This is a series in brown.

Next up is the blue set.

And these scarves I designed especially for kids. However I like to wear one myself, so...

Waiting for Inspiration

These are a couple of my fabrics, waiting for inspiration to kick in.

These are some wools with which I think I might make some scarves or cushions.

And these are all waiting to become cushions, rugs, bed covers or other.

Thursday 8 December 2011

The countdown has begun!

In 10 days I will launch my label officially during my very first sale! On the 18th of December I will be the proud owner of a stand at the creative market Beparkte Oplage in Park Noord Antwerp. This edition of the market is combined with a X-mass market and so I expect it will be very cosy and cheerful.

Don't hesitate to come and visit the market from 12 AM till 6 PM. You'll certainly be able to find the one missing gift you so desperately need for Christmass the next week :-)

Sweet dreams

This bed cover is a patchwork out of 4 big chunks of fabric. The centerpiece is a kind of grey metal threaded tissue.

These details show the fabrics used and the stitching applied as quilting technique.

Igor

I would like you to get acquainted with Igor. Igor is a small rug for all kinds of purposes. Personnaly I use it to have nice warm and soft feet when I get out of bed, or just for decoration in my living room. My Sweety loves to play on an Igor and just generally likes to have one in her room.

The inspiration for this rug came from our Impala skin in the living room. I saw it lying one evening while quilting and the idea just flashed before my eyes. I immediately put it into practice and was very pleased with the result. In the meantime I have made several already (pictures will follow soon).

What I especially like about Igor is that it allows me to combine my love for fabrics with my passion for patchwork. And the array of combination is unlimited, which means I can knock myself out with colors and patterns!
